Also known as the pepper squash or Des Moines squash.Fun, round shape with deep ridges once it grows and matures. Orange and yellow, slightly sweet flesh when fully grown and cooked properly. Sow 2-3 seeds 1 inch deep about 2-3 weeks indoors before your zone's last frost date in fertile, loose, well-draining soil. When the soil temperature is at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit in an area with at least 6 hours of direct light, that's when it's ideal to have them outside.
