On a visit there one night, our hostess explained that the grilled pineapple is only served in the United States by their family and is not a tradition of their home country, Brazil. She also informed us that the correct way of pronouncing the country name is 'Brah-zil' and not 'Bruh-zil' as we pronounce it in the United States.
