Echoes of Autumn Light, oil on canvas, 52"x62"x2", 2024
Original oil on canvas with frame 52"x62"x2", 2024 This painting was born from a quiet walk through Prospect Park in Brooklyn, where autumn had draped the trees in layers of fire and gold. I was struck not only by the warmth in the leaves, but by the gentle breath of cool sky filtering through the branches — a hush of blue that echoed in the still water below. Echoes of Autumn Light is my attempt to hold onto that fleeting harmony — the glow of fall held gently by the crisp edge of approaching winter. I worked in layers, letting each one dry before returning with new color and intent. This wet-on-dry process allowed me to build the scene gradually, as if the landscape itself were remembering its own turning. There is a quiet rhythm here: light meeting shadow, warmth meeting coolness, stillness meeting reflection. I hope this piece offers a pause — a moment of peace that lingers, like autumn’s last light.
