A young sea Turtle has been adeptly carved from fossilized horned coral by Fred Bowannie, Jr. Fossilized horned coral is found locally on the Zuni Pueblo reservation at Nutria. Elegant etching adorns the reptile's carapace in a pleasing way. Natural nodules appear on the shell too, like air bubbles. Pen shell in gold lip shell eyes see the splashing waves ahead as this hatchling makes its way to the shore's edge. About 3" long, 2 1/2" wide and 1/2" tall.
