Keeping Out the Noise

Katherine (Kathy) Edgren grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was first published at the age of seventeen under her maiden name: Kathy Kool. She is retired from a long career as a social worker and administrator and served for three terms on the Ann Arbor City Council. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan with an A.B and an MSW. Katherine is the author of the book The Grain Beneath the Gloss and two chapbooks: Transports and Long Division, published by Finishing Line Press. She has been published widely. Currently she lives in Dexter, Michigan with her husband, John, and her dog, Bella. A grandparent of four, she is an avid bike rider, hiker, singer in the choir, and gardener of vegetables.
