Typography: A Manual of Design (Emil Ruder)

There’s no shortage of design manuals. What makes this one any different? Well, all those other ones are mostly regurgitations of this one. [[Note: We somehow spelled regurgitations correctly on the first try.]] In this classic guide, Emil Ruder lays it all out in black, white, a dash of red, German, English, and French. But one need not read a word of this in order to learn something. The illustrations speak for themselves through self-evident groupings of comparisons and contrasts. What’s most remarkable is that Ruder teaches by pointing out what you already know through your own experiences.
