20k gold Basalt and Yellow Sapphire Pendant

Ocean polish Basalt from Victoria B.C., with yellow sapphire ruled by Jupiter the guru stone, the teacher stone, set in 20k gold. The back is hand engraved with Ganesha, the Hindu elephant god who is the remover of obstacles and one who is worshipped in the morning or before anything begins.  Circa 2008. While this piece was produced in 2008, it has never been worn. In 2003, I went to Mysore India for the first time to study yoga. While I went there to study yoga, I ended up finding a new passion, Indian goldsmithing. During that journey, I met Kumar who has been my good friend and gold smith teacher since.
