
Lembata Dot Earring
Lembata jewellery is traditionally made from shells, bones, beads and metals and reflects the islands rich cultural heritage. Located in East Nusa Tenggara, in Indonesia’s archipelago, intricate craftsmanship reflects deep symbolic meanings tide to the community’s identity and beliefs. Inspired by local mythology, nature and ancestral motifs such as spirals, geometric patterns or animal figures, jewellery is worn during rituals, weddings and ceremonies. Techniques are passed down generationally involving hand-hammering, threading beads and intricate metalwork. Designed from a drawing inspired by an antique from Lembata. Initially handmade by a brass smith to form the master followed by casting using the lost-wax-method. Materials include brass dipped in gold 22k. Width: 2.5cm Length: 2.5
