Alkanet Root (Alkanna tinctoria)

Alkanet Root is the source of an organic red dye, used as a dyeing agent. Traditionally used topically for the treatment of skin wounds and diseases.* In India, known as 'Ratan Jot', occasionally used in Kashmiri dish called ‘Rogan Josh’ and ‘Mirchwangan Korma’ for it's pleasing red color. *To make Oil: Infuse 1tbsp root in ¼ cup of oil. Shake or stir daily for a few days, then strain out the root.
