1669 book with vellum manuscript fragments bound in: Les Peintures Morales, v.2

Publisher: Mauger, François. 1669 A rare example from the 1600s when French binders cut up  old vellum manuscript pages used to strenghten the binding. Normally these books have been taken apart, and the manuscript sold separately - so it is quite rare to see one intact.
