Obsidian is a dark, mysterious stone that is formed by rapidly cooling volcanic lava. It gets it's black color from it's high iron content, and it's structure is closer related to glass than a mineral or crystal. Often is can be found with various colors inside, from grey and rainbow banding to white and red inclusions.  Origin: Obsidian can be found in almost every part of the world, including the americas, Easters and Northern Europe, Asia and Russia.
