spalted maple cross
this four foot table top is a lovely gnarled piece of spalted maple with wonderful character. A large crack in the original slab has been infilled with a carved piece of black walnut in a shape that echoes the traditional bowtie key motif. The Paul McCobb-style legs are reconditioned, tapered mid-century modern 'gerber' legs (height adjustable) attached to original brackets which have been recessed on the underside to ensure a cool, clean look. Table surface is hand-sanded and finished in shellac, plus two coats of danish oil. your choice - flared or straight? The original brackets allow a choice of splayed or straight legs (see photos). measures 47" (w) x 14" (d) x 17" (h) free shipping within 30 miles of 07928 (excluding nyc) a similar table, custom-built to your specifications can be ordered by inquiring here
