Variety is the spice of life, and this rock and gem kit offers 29 rocks and gems, perfect to start or build a rock collection! Red Quartzite, Jade, Pink Gypsum, Opal, Red Goldstone, Sodalite, and Persian Gulf Agate are just a sample of the rocks and gems included. Each measures ½-1" long, except for the agate slice which measures approximately 2 ½". Also included are acrylic stands, a magnifying glass, and a display light. The 32-page Maker-Lab guide booklet provides an overview of included items, safety tips, information about the rock cycle and a field guide that covers the included resources. Additionally, instructions for using the display light with the agate slice are included. There are also 6 hands-on activities with step-by-step instructions, allowing children to learn basic rock characteristics and release their inner creativity. Evolutionary dating is referenced.
