Apollo

Apollo was the god of archery, music, poetry, the sun, light and knowledge. Apollo was the son of Zeus and Leto and had a twin sister, Artemis.  His mother, fearful of revenge from Hera, Zeus’s wife, chose the small island of Delos to birth Apollo. To keep him safe from Hera, his mother fed him nectar and ambrosia which was said to immediately transfer him from babe to man in a day.   Apollo was a very important god as he had many responsibilities. He had many special powers including the ability to see into the future and power over light.
