cp-e has specifically designed this axle-back to compliment the FA20DIT exhaust note, making this a phenomenal option for the 2015-2021 WRX. This will as well fit on 2015-2018 STI, but will not fit late model STI with the larger diameter midpipe.  OEM parts often times are designed for efficiency of manufacturing, cutting costs and driver comfort.
