An exploration of graphite & saltwater #5
Living on the coast, I love incorporating organic material from my environment into my work. One day in February, I took a big bucket down to the beach and scooped up as much seawater as I could carry home. When I added it to my work, I loved what it did to materials I was already using. When mixed with pigments or paint, the saltwater created little rivulets. You can see the effect if you look closely at the hard edges in this piece.
