About the Photoshoot This serene photograph was taken at Stokksnes black sand beach, showcasing the uniquely shaped Vestrahorn mountain in southeast Iceland. The morning was eerily quiet and windless, a rare and precious occurrence in the famously windy Iceland. Taking advantage of this calm, I used a long exposure to accentuate the faint mist hovering over the water. The calm water remained rippleless, reflecting the scene like a perfect mirror. The long exposure also blurred the distant clouds in the sky, further emphasizing the absolute stillness of the foreground. Despite the absence of dramatic color contrasts, I am particularly fond of this picture. It feels like a fairy tale land in my imagination, where nature is basked in a warm sunrise, waiting to wake up to a beautiful morning.
