Pining for Pineapple

Nothing says welcome to me like the pineapple... that's not true,  but you know what I'm talking about right? All those signs that have pineapples on them and say welcome? I think it has something to do with ships. Because everyone always thinks of pirates and welcome signs and the pineapple... Yea... These pineapples are very welcoming, I will say.
