The history of Chateau Faugeres, Chateau Cap de Faugeres, and Peby Faugeres are tightly entwined together. In 1823 the Esquissaud family acquires the land. 150 years later, Pierre-Bernard Guisez inherits the land. In 1992 construction begins on the winery. In 2005 Silvio Denz purchases all three properties. The Chateau Cap de Faugeres is 46 Hectares planted with 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.  This is the same ratio as their Saint Emilion property, Chateau Faugeres.
