Embedded Tutoring: How To Develop, Implement & Analyze A Successful Program
Description Challenge - Implementing an embedded tutoring program This webinar will address setting up and running an embedded tutor program at your institution. Key Takeaway Participants will walk away with more knowledge of what it takes to set up and coordinate an embedded tutor program in their school. In addition, we will discuss what we have found to be best practices for training tutors and faculty, data collection and analysis, and any other questions the participants might have. Overview Colleges and universities are taking a greater interest in integrating support and success tools into the classrooms and meeting the students where they are, and embedded tutoring does just that. Unlike Supplemental Instruction, there is no rule book or instruction manual on how to run an embedded tutor program. We have brought together four community colleges that have set up and run large embedded tutor programs to discuss and share some of the best practices we have learned along our journey. Objectives Define what embedded tutoring is. Examine the differences between embedded tutoring, supplemental instruction, and teaching assistants. Discuss selection processes for tutors and courses. Describe and recommend tutor and faculty training for an embedded tutoring program. Discuss different ways to collect, assess and analyze data on your embedded tutor program. Investigate the challenges you might face with an embedded tutor program. Who Should Attend Administration Learning Center or assistance program staff Any educator interested in redesigning student success with embedded tutoring programs
