
The Defender
I created this axe design as the third of a set of axes paying tribute to the armed forces. All of the axes in this collection will be double bit hatchets, incorporating some form of strong imagery that ties into one (or more) of the branches of the US military. The Defender borrows the Army Star on the front of the eye, while leaving the back blank in case someone would like to engrave unit insignia. The blade shape also borrows from the Hudson Bay style axe which was US Army issue during WW2. This axe should meet the specifications and regulations for small axe competitions where double bit designs are allowed as long as one bit is not sharpened. Those regulations are changing all the time though so if you're unsure, feel free to reach out! By default, this axe comes with a single handle. Additional handles can be purchased here. As an Infinity Axes special, this design incorporates a pinned handle design that allows for rapid replacement of handles. The socket measures 1.25 in
