Mean Flamingo

The Mean Flamingo is the big axe version of one of my most popular designs.  The original hatchet, "The Flamingo", was a quirky design I stumbled onto by accident but it's turned into a fan favorite and I figured it was high time I made a Big Axe version. Because I have a hard time leaving things well enough alone though, I couldn't just scale the original up and thus the angry eye embellishment found it's way onto my sketchpad.  Designed to maximize scoring ability, the blade has a max size of 4 & 5/8" and the overall weight will come in at 2.7 lbs.  The Mean Flamingo uses a modified Infinity Axes handle design.  1.5 inches  instead of 1.25 inches wide.  When working on the design, I felt the slightly larger handle matched the aesthetics better and would give more support to a heftier head.  The handle is still held in place by a 1/4 inch roll pin, making replacing a broken handle a breeze.
