These rare Namibian Hyalite Opal specimens have THE BEST ultraviolet glow!! Every single specimen glows under a blacklight. Some specimens will have some area of grape-like botryoidal growth and all will range in translucence with clear to milky or gold coloring. Hyalite is a special, colorless variety of Opal that grows in volcanic formations! Although these stones do not show typical opalescence, they have their own unique trait - fluorescence! Hyalite contains trace amounts of uranium within its silica structure, causing it to have a bright fluorescent glow.
