
Late 19th Century Japanned Copper Piano Stool
c. 1890s; Tonk Manufacturing Co. - Chicago, IL Antique swivel piano stool with twisted copper frame. This piece, designated as Model No. 5041 features a japanned copper frame comprised of twisted metal rods, forming a braided look on the trio of legs. A central stem is adorned with ornate beading and scrolls, capped on top with an ovoid embellishment, and on the bottom with a small sphere. The seat is made of oak with a polished stain applied; double-carved lines run the diameter of the edge. A swivel mechanism housed in the stem allows the seat to be raised or lowered significantly. Exhibits minor signs of wear including some small scratches on the seat and light patination on the central stem. 14" dia and 18" - 25" H Please refer to photos regarding condition.
