Early 20th Century Japanned Copper Traveling Clerk's Desk

When closed, the rolltop door wraps around the interior, keeping the surfaces completely enclosed. The rolltop slides back to reveal a small writing surface that extends outwards by way of two fold-out panels on either side. The entire desk sits on a gorgeously japanned copper base that boasts the characteristic splotched design the style is known for. Despite appearing to sit on four legs, behind each of these is a single caster that allows the desk to roll for ease of transportation.Exhibits minor signs of wear including chipped/peeling veneer and some rust/patination.
