It is officially approved to treat acute and chronic viral hepatitis in China as well as various inflammatory diseases. In 2020, the National Medical Products Administration of China (NMPAC: The Chinese version of the USFDA) approved PZH for different clinical trials to determine the scientific basis of its efficacy.
