The XDP Main Stud Kit XD3003MS replaces the factory main bolts on your 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke. Featuring 8740 Chrome Moly construction with an added proprietary element for additional strength to ensure these studs will not stretch like the factory bolts. These heavy-duty studs are rated at 220,000 plus psi tensile strength and 210,000 plus psi yield strength to provide better clamping force under higher combustion pressures. The threads are rolled after heat-treating to provide maximum fatigue strength. In addition to the increased strength, replacing the OEM main bolts with studs also allows you to obtain a more accurate torque reading. A conventional bolt gets twisted as it is tightened, so it's reacting to two different forces at the same time. With a stud the force gets applied to the vertical axis, resulting in a more even clamping force.
