F-4C Vietnam War - Academy 12294 Entering service with the US Military in 1960, the F-4 Phantom II began as a fleet defense fighter for the USN. In 1963, the aircraft was adopted as the USAF’s lead fighter bomber. It was a Cold War icon with its large size, breaking fifteen world records, and holding onto five of those records until 1975. The aircraft was produced from 1960-1981 with 5,195 built, and operating with eleven other countries. This model faithfully recreates the F-4C Phantom II. The fully assembled model in 1/48 scale is 368mm long and 104mm tall.
