It's good to have a Queen Catcher on hand when you are working in the hive. Once you locate her you open the catcher (like a hair clip) and close it around her. It's big enough to hold a queen and a few workers as well. Set the catcher aside while you work the hive so you eliminate the chance of crushing her by mistake.
