Custer’s Michigan Cavalry Brigade

In a Cavalry Corps up against the quality of the Cavalry corps that was the Confederacy’s, Union Cavalry had to up their game and fast. No Union officer exemplified this excellence in development more than George Armstrong Custer. Whatever he may have lacked in classroom skills at the academy, he possessed on the battlefield in spades. Fearless charges, always leading his men from the front, in many regards, he emerges as THE Union Cavalry hero of the Civil War, only to meet his end on a different battlefield, against a different enemy, some 11 years later, and that is what he best remembered for.  The hat features the famous cavalry crossed sabers insignia in detailed puff style embroidery (the type found on professional baseball caps) in metallic gold, on a dark Navy cap.
