Two-hour Pop-up Coffee Cupping Lab Experience: From Bean to Cup

What we’ll do The coffee lab will begin with a glimpse into the coffee farmer's journey from crop to cup (i.e. the coffee tree, harvesting the fruit, and its processing) in a short film that will cover coffee history and the legendary goat that discovered coffee in Ethiopia. Next, we'll roast some coffee together, discovering the importance and impact 'roasting' has on the quality of the coffee and what differentiates specialty coffee.   We will then stir it up with a "cupping" session, which is the standard method of taste-assessing single-origin coffees from different regions. This will be a "blind" coffee tasting that will be paired with bites/snacks to enhance the notes of the coffee. There will also be a take-home sampling sheet where guests will notate the coffees' mouthfeel, acidity, body, etc., similar to what you would do with a sommelier when wine tasting.   Afterwards, I will turn everyone into expert baristas by preparing coffee using four different methods of brewing
