Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism is Napalm Death's 16th studio album, produced by longtime collaborator Russ Russell.According to vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway, "The phrase sticking in my mind when I started thinking about the lyrical direction for this album was “the other”.
