Streptocarpus (Cape Primrose) We offer mature Streptocarpus that are in bloom / already budding as well as ones that have already been through their first blooming cycle ('Out Of Bloom' option).  We do this so you have a choice to not have to wait to enjoy your plant in bloom or save money purchasing one that isn't blooming at the moment. Streptocarpus will bloom frequently throughout the growing season but might go a little dormant during colder months.  Streptocarpus are one of the heartier plants in the Gesneriad family. Care Instructions: Sunlight: 10+ hours of Indirect sunlight for optimal blooming.  If you expose to direct light, morning sun is best and limit to only 2 - 3 hours.  Watering: Water when the top of the soil is dry.  Prefers to be moist but do no overwater. Mist leaves from time to time. Use well-draining soil. Fertilization:  Liquid Fertilizer 8-14-9 Use a weak solution once a month during growing season. Temperature & Humidity: 70°to 80°F; 40% to 50% humidity.
