The Chinese longevity lock used on doors and boxes, have a long established association with protection of the unknown. They are decorated with both Chinese characters and symbols. In this piece the lock is in the form of a moth. I decided on this one to go more monochromatic and added the fabulous tassels! The lock is about 4 1/2 inches at its widest point.
