Nananana makakiʻi (Hawaiian Happy Face Spider) (Theridion grallator) Minoʻaka in Hawaiian means smile, to smile, laughing dimple. This charismatic little (5mm) spider, Theridion grallator, is found on the undersides of leaves in the forests of Hawaiʻi. They do not build webs. The female guards her bright green patch of eggs until the spiderlings hatch. The Hawaiian name is nananana makakiʻi: face-patterned spider.
