Like Galileo, I am obsessed with the Sun. Well, he was obsessed with all cosmological things. I'm not saying that those things aren't great-- they are! However, I think that issues with the Sun are far more imminent given that the Earth's survival and the survival of the human race depend solely on the existence of this ginormous star that is at the center of our galaxy. Having said that, the sun is exactly that-- a star. In terms of space distances, the Sun is actually rather close, too. The energy emitted by the Sun, including the thermal energy that allows the human race to survive is incredible. I mean, nobody really knows where it came from. Christians say that God created, scientists say it all started with a big bang. The fact is that nobody really knows for sure and maybe we're not supposed.
