Variety: Pinot Noir Hart and Cru has partnered with Enfield from the very beginning. A fitting relationship as both H&C and Enfield know the potential for wine to tell an amazing story. John Lockwood’s story is one of focus and the value of meandering into what you love. Having been exposed to wine farming as a teenager, John had an early start in appreciating the full process from vine to bottle. A stint as a guitar builder, brought him to California, via Oakland. After working a few harvests at producers such as Littorai and Failla starting in 2004, wine became a passion. It was in 2010 while at Failla that he and his wife, Amy Seese, started the Enfield project, which he pursued full time in 2013. His method is to partner with small growers from California's renowned heritage sites in Napa, Sonoma and beyond. The independent growers can change each year because the intention is to make the best wines they can with the fruit from their trusted growers, but never the “perfect wine
