This special design helps the axe go fast into the wood, & then split efficiently when the thicker part of the axe pushes apart the wood. The 2-1/2" head face of the axe is made of the highest quality Swedish steel available. This hatchet can be managed with one hand & is designed to split small to medium size wood chunks.
