The axe is good for hewing sills & notches in joints. With it's unique shape, the axe enables one to hew a long way down into the notch. The axe may also be used for making holes in the fence (posts) poles. Made of the highest quality Swedish steel available, this axe's head weighs 2-1/2 lb. & has a 2-1/4" long face with 19" long hickory handle.
