size 1” This slate grey baboon spider was once very common in the hobby but these days they are hard to find. On the smaller side reaching 4 - 5 inches as adults. Fossorial species , however most Pterinochilus are opportunistic and will make the best with what they have. Sometimes a bit fiesta and baboon bites are reported to hurt, but not medically significant. These spiders were described in 1900 by legendary British zoologist Reginald Innes Pocock.
