size 2” -3” males females. Great size, showing adult color ! This is one of the U.S.A’s most recognizable spiders. This species from Southern Texas and Mexico can reach about 5 inches as adults. Beatiful orange and black spider that does fade to a tan color a few months after a molt. Described in 1939 by Ralph Vary Chamberlin & Vaine Wilton Ivie, this slow growing long lived tarantula is a great addition for anyone into the local tarantulas of the United States.
