This is a recreation of the Ancient Egyptian game of Senet. This is considered by many to be the first board game and dates back more than 5,000 years! The marking (hieroglyphics) on this game are an exact recreation of the markings found on one of the Senet boards discovered by Howard Carter in 1922 in the Tomb of Tutankhamun, the famous "Boy King" of Ancient Egypt. There were FOUR Senet boards in the tomb, demonstrating that Senet was clearly the favorite pastime of the young Ruler. This game was designed here in my small shop and built by me alone, by hand. I am the only shop that sells this particular design of Senet and the only one that I know of that took considerable time to make sure that all of the markings are authentic and genuine to the originals.
