George Washington Montgomery (1810-1898), a native of Portland, Maine, who became a popular Universalist minister. He was a frequent contributor to the press of his denomination, published a book of sermons, and his Law of Kindness found a large reading audience in the United States and was republished in England and elsewhere in Europe.
