Twenty-six sermons on Bible texts giving the names and titles of Christ. Elder James S. Maple, (1824-1897), a member of the Miami [Ohio] Christian Conference, pastor and author. In his latter years he was the pastor of a Methodist church at Warren, Ohio. "His many manly and lovable qualities, as much as his recognized ability as a preacher, speaker, and writer made him dear to all with whom he became acquainted. His last charge was at Warren, where he was greatly beloved." - obituary at findagrave online. The Gospel Herald was a periodical of the General Convention of the Christian Church, which was part of the Disciples of Christ movement.
