2018 Beard DecoPhonic Model 57 Squareneck Resonator Guitar - Used
This Beard Deco Phonic was built in 2018 and it’s in excellent lightly played condition. This squareneck Model 57 is inspired by the resonator guitars that were made in California in the 1930s and it offers a blend of vintage styling and modern functionality. Paul Beard is no newcomer to resonator guitars, as major players like Jerry Douglas, Mike Auldridge, and other A-list players use Beard Dobros. But except for the imported versions bearing his trademark, Beard resonator guitars have always been, well, kinda pricey. That changed thanks to Paul’s Deco Phonic line, which were inspired by the less expensive instruments that were made during the Great Depression in the 1930s. These guitars were well made but cosmetically plain. Paul took that idea and applied it to the resonator guitars made in his Maryland workshop. These Deco Phonic models are made by the same small crew (nine or ten guys), and feature simple but classy designs, thin low-gloss finishes, and offer great tone and playability at very affordable prices. The original hardshell case is equally clean.
