The ripe and still largely primary nose displays plenty of earth and game elements on the black cherry and violet-scented aromas. There is excellent size, weight and concentration to the serious, intense, round and mineral-driven flavors that culminate in a powerful, detailed and sappy finish that is supported by a firm core of tannins. This is very Gevrey in character and is a 2005 that could be drunk now but will clearly be more interesting with another 5ish or so years of bottle age first." - Burghound, BH92, tasted 4/2016
