To ensure safe operation and satisfactory performance from your pressure cooker, replace the overpressure plug every time you replacé the sealing ring (every two years is recómmended) or sooner if it becomes hard or inflexible. Clean the sealing ring groove and overpressure plug hole thoroughly. Be sure they are free of all food particles and foreign material. A stiff brush or scouring pad can be used for cleaning the groove. Wash the new sealing ring and overpressure plug in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Install the sealing ring by working it into the cover. Work it into the groove a small section at a time until it is fully in place. Be sure to fit it under the stop tab and the lock pin on the inside of the cover. If necessary, to help make the cover easier to open and close, a very light coating, of cooking oil may be applièd to the underside of the body lugs and sealing ring. Install the overpressure
