The DL3500 ASCII to DH-485 is a compact, Din Rail ASCII Gateway to Allen-Bradley DH-485 network protocol. It provides an ASCII interface to PLC’s on the DH-485 network for printers, bar code scanners, and other ASCII devices. In scanner operation the ASCII data is stored in the buffer until either a terminating character (CR, LF, CR & LF) or 240 bytes are received. The packet of ASCII data is then sent to an integer file in the PLC. In Printer operation, data stored in PLC ASCII files can be sent to printers or message displays with a simple write command to the DL3500.
