This is beautiful dyed ramie roving in Honey, a warm golden color. This listing is for 1 oz., which is the amount shown in the photographs. Larger amounts can be ordered upon request. This natural plant fiber is soft yet very durable and has a beautiful sheen. Ramie works beautifully in wet felted garments where the fibers get worked into the felted wool to make unique organic patterns with a silky finish. Due to its strength and similarity in texture to medium/course hair, it works very nicely as hair for felted dolls. Because ramie fibers do not have the same qualities as wool, it will not felt on its own. it needs to be either blended with another fiber before felting; or if using on its own, work it into an easily felting fiber such as wool. This ramie roving can also be blended with other fibers for spinning.
