Tree Carved Gourd-Blue

Created from a Martin house gourd, these trees have been hand carved from freehand designs which make each one truly unique & one of a kind! My trees are all created as one of a kind & because each gourd is naturally grown the design can never be completely duplicated. After spending a few months growing the gourds are then picked & placed to dry, this method is called ‘Seasoning’ & can take up to 12 months depending on the size of the vessel.  Cleaning the gourd inside & out is the next step, I use a respirator mask & high powered saws & drills for both the cleaning & carving.  To add detail I use a air powered drill, acrylic paint & leather dyes. This piece is a 3 dimensional design, the work is throughout the entire outer surface of the gourd.  By placing a illuminated light inside the piece you will get the reflections of trees surrounding your room! Measures 8in tall 17in in diameter (7in wide)
